Chuamar ag campáil ar lá de torthaí na scrúdaithe.
D'éirigh go h-an maith leis an mbliain sa Teastas Shóisearach agus bhí aoibh mhaith ar ghach duine.
Phacálamar ár málaí le eadaí teolaí agus bia deas agus ar aghaidh linn go dtí an ionad campála i sléibhte Cill Mhantáin.
Bhí sé dúshlánach an poball a chuí suas ach D'eírigh linn ag an deireadh.
Chuamar ar súcloíd fads ar an gcéad lá. Nuair a d'fhilleamar ar ais, Rinnemar marshmallows thar an tine campála.
Ar an dara lá, chuamar ag sléibhteoireacht agus an snámh.
Bhí BBQ againn agus bhíomar ag canadh agus an roinnt scéalta timpeall an tine campála.
Ní raibh mé ag campáil cheanna agus thaitin sé go mór liom. Ba thaithí fiúntach é.

Due to the fact that we were receiving our JC results our school arranged a camping trip that we would go on as a whole year group.
Our camping experience took place in Lough Dan in county Wicklow.
We left the school at 10 in the morning and arrived in Lough Dan at 11. When we arrived we were informed on the rules of the campsite and then were told to put up our tent. Putting up the tent was probably the worst part about the trip and just when we thought it couldn't get any worse it began to rain. We sat in the tent for around an hour waiting for the rain to pass. We had a few puddles in our tent after the rain but we managed to dry them up. After the rain passed we went on a two hour hike it was long and tiring but the weather was nice and we knew it was nothing compared to what we had to walk the next morning. When we got back to the campsite we lit a fire and everyone roasted marshmallows and shouted until we were told to go back to our tents for the night.
Early the next morning after a cold nights sleep I got up and had breakfast I wasn't sure whether I ate raw sausages or not because our cooking skills weren't the best. At around 9 we set out on a long hike that lasted over four hours. It was a long and tiring walk and about three quarters of the way through we stumbled across a river that we had to get across somehow so a few people began giving piggy back rides across the river for whoever didn't want to get wet. When we got back to the camp we got rewarded and were allowed to go swimming. It was freezing! When we got out of the water we all raced back to the showers to try and get warm. We ate burgers that were cooked by the teachers and spent the rest of the night around the fire again shouting until we were told to go back to our tents.
We got up the next morning and unfortunately it was time to go. It was a great experience and I would definitely go again.
CARLINGFORD
- At 9o clock on Monday the 19th of February we left the school to travel to Carlingford adventure centre in County Louth. When we arrived there we were all brought to the sports hall and were given an introduction to all the rules and responsibilities of the centre. Everyone was then split into rooms. I was in room number 25 with 5 other people . Before our first activity we had lunch in the kitchen. The food was better than I had expected it to be. After lunch we were split into 2 groups A and B. I was in group B. My first activity was laser tag. After laser tag we returned for dinner. After dinner our next activity was murder mystery. It was a very fun activity. We had to run around the town searching for clues relating to a fake murder. When we returned and found out who the murderer was we all went to the common room where there was a table tennis table. Lights out was 10.30 pm and we had to wake up every morning at 8.am. It was extremely tiring. We had cereal and toast every morning for breakfast. At 9 am we headed off for our first activity which was the skypark. A mixture of ziplines and obstacles using a harness. It was a lot of fun. After lunch we prepared for canoeing. It was absolutely freezing at the edge of the water but once we got in it was ok. We were in 3 groups in the boats and it was chaos there was water being splashed everywhere. When we got back to the peer we went for a jump and it was 100% the coldest water I've ever been in. We all rushed to the hot showers in the changing rooms. We then returned for dinner and warmed up in our rooms. After dinner we took on the carlingford challenge. I was in a group with Jack Colin Jennifer Colm and Hubie. My favourite part of the challenge was the standing long jump which I won for my team. After the Carlingford challenge we went to the common room once again for the night. On Wednesday we woke up had breakfast and our first activity was high ropes. It was really scary at the top of the pole. It involved a lot of climbing to really high obstacles and platforms. It was a lot more difficult than I had expected. My afternoon activity was a series of challenges in the skypark field. They were extremely stressful but our groups had a lot of laughs in the process. We returned for dinner and prepared for our last night activity. Our last night activity was the night walk. It was a blindfolded walk in a pitch dark forest. It was hilarious because everyone just screamed their way around the forest. We returned to the common room the same as every other night and went to bed at 10.30. I woke up for breakfast and Although I was really tired I was looking forward to the last day. We set out at 9 up to where the ziptopia course was. It was insane. The course consisted of loads of ziplines and one was 200m long. After our last lunch we went up to the skypark field where we did archery played aeroball and frisbee golf. We had packed our stuff that morning do we didn't have to pack when we got back we could just eat and the get on the bus. Everyone was tired on the ride home. We got back to the school at 8.30pm on Thursday. I enjoyed every bit of carlingford it was a great experience and I did lots of things that I had never done before.
